History

Cathay Pacific has the ICAO code CPA and the IATA code CX.

Founded in 1946, Cathay Pacific is Hong Kong's leading airline, headquartered at Hong Kong International Airport. Cathay Pacific flies to more than 200 destinations in 52 countries, and is among the ten largest airlines in the world. He is also a founding member of the Oneworld alliance, and is one of only seven airlines to earn Skytrax's five-star rating. Its subsidiary airline is Dragonair.

In June 2024, the airline restores the direct Barcelona-Hong Kong flight that had been lost due to the pandemic in 2020, thus offering almost daily flights from Spain to Hong Kong.
